Creating a Positive Ethos in the Classroom

The environment counts for a lot when it comes to learning. It can influence motivation, concentration, memory, and attitude. Paint the Classroom in Happy Colours

A positive school ethos and culture are essential to developing good relationships and positive behavior in the classroom, playground, and wider community. One way to do so is to use color psychology. It is advisable to use warm colors which would keep the toddlers cheerful and alert. The wall arts can add a splash of color to the classroom.

Turn Learning into a Meaningful Experience

Try to connect learning with the real world as often as possible. Include moral and ethical learning in the curriculum. Complimenting kids helps them to feel that they are cared for individually. The teachers play a huge part in this aspect of developing school culture.

Encourage Teamwork

When the toddlers work together as a team, they learn more than the material at hand. They learn to support and empathize with each other. These are skills that not only create a valuable classroom culture but also allow the students to grow into responsible individuals and empower them.

Establishing open, positive, and supporting relationships across the school premises can help in the holistic development of a child. Kaintal Prep School, one of the best ICSE prep schools in Patiala, hopes that the blog proves helpful in maintaining a positive environment in the classroom.

Kids learn from their environment, so maintaining a positive environment can prove to be extremely helpful to inculcate a sense of gratefulness and good manners in children. Express your gratitude to those who add value to your life. Encourage your kids to send out thank you cards whenever they receive a gift.

Create a Joyful Home

Surprise your kids with small gestures. Talk about the good things you happened to come across in your day. Express how grateful you are for your family and happy home. Encourage your kids to express themselves as well. Healthy communication is the key to a happy home.

Participate in the Lord’s Work

Explain to your kids the importance of giving back. Participating in charity can be a very enriching experience for your kids. A great way to introduce and reinforce charitable values in children is to make philanthropy a family activity. Appreciate and encourage your children when they show generosity and empathy to others.

Importance of Moral Values

Schools are the lighthouse of society. It is the first step that young impressionable minds take to be molded in the way that they are taught. Education is not all about formulas and equations, it is about the way it steers our mind and soul.

At Kaintal Prep School, ICSE Prep school in Patiala, ethics, soft skills, and etiquettes are all a part of the curriculum:

In our present-day education system, students study for the potential of education to help them secure a fruitful life. We all start by learning alphabets, numbers, and sharing food, but along our way up the ladder, the significance of value education is lost to scientific principles.

Moral science should be an integral part of the curriculum since it shapes the way a growing mind looks at everyday life. One's truthfulness and sincerity depend on their ethics and moral behaviour. Moral education provides students with the intellectual resources that enable them to make informed and responsible judgments. It inculcates values for life. They shape the character of a child. The nature of this subject is very impressionable as the textbooks contain lessons that are inspirational and students pick up valuable points about life. Texts like poems, stories, and essays combine to make up a good material for teaching moral science.

Would you disrespect the elderly? Would you like to be disrespected? A number of such types of questions might pop up in textbooks driving the minds of young readers towards bigger things in life.

Children are able to find a direction and purpose in life with clarity if they are fostered in an environment of values and respect. Kaintal Prep School, Top ten schools in Patiala, enables children to logically grabble with life and encouraging healthy brain development and growth.

Importance of Preschool Education

Kindergarten marks the beginning of a child’s school life. At Kaintal Prep, one of the top ICSE Schools in Patiala, we believe enrolling your children in a pre-school is a gainful utilization of their precious time as it directs their energy towards productive pursuits.

Here are our top reasons why a preschool education can do wonders for the kids:

Provides Opportunities for Socialization

Children have to step out of the caring comfort of home one day and interact with the world. Preschools provide a warm and affectionate environment where children learn social skills like sharing, compromising and co-operating, nurture close relationships with peers and teachers, acquire confidence and learn how to behave appropriately in social settings.

Makes Transition to Higher Education Easier

A preschool is the child’s first experience in a structured environment. He learns to adapt a set routine which will help him deal with more complex tasks later in life. Besides, it is the perfect launchpad for children into the Kindergarten as they have already been introduced to basic concepts of math, colors, shapes, sizes, and language.

Promotes Self-confidence

Preschool life is replete with fun learning activities which teach valuable skills to children. They learn how to wash their hands, tie their shoelaces, learn basic table manners without having to rely on an adult. Gradually they become more self-reliant which fills them with confidence.

Development of Motor Skills

Preschools are not just about teaching children their ABCs and 123s. There are plenty of fun and exciting activities for the tiny tots that involve them running around playing active games in the playground and other activities which focus particularly on the development of fine motor skills thus resulting in more coordinated, controlled and balanced movements.

Dealing with Separation Anxiety in Toddlers

It is normal for every kid to feel anxious when they leave their parents for the first time. Crying, clinginess and throwing tantrums are healthy reactions to separation in early childhood and are a normal stage of development. The timing of separation anxiety varies from child to child. However, normally it begins when a child turns 8 months and lasts up to 4 years of age.

The Kaintal Prep School, an ICSE prep school in Patiala provides you with some ways to deal with separation anxiety in toddlers:

Practice Separation

Once your child is a year old, start leaving them with caretaker or grandparents. Initially, leave them for short time periods and distances. Once your child gets comfortable with them, you can try leaving them for a longer time span and distance.

Keep Their Needs in Mind

Your child is likely to get more cranky and anxious when it is their sleeping or feeding time. Make sure that your child is well-fed and isn’t tired when you leave them.

The Good-Bye Ritual

Develop a ritual of goodbye when you leave them, it could be a wave or even a goodbye kiss. Goodbyes reassure your child that you will be back in some time. Keep goodbyes as simple as you can.

Keep Your Promise

When you leave your child with a promise to return in an hour, he expects you to fulfil that promise. When you don’t fulfil your promise, this creates more anxiety when you leave them alone next time.

Do Not Change Caretaker Often

Try to be consistent with the caretaker you appoint for them. When you keep on changing the caretakers, it makes it difficult for your child to adjust and brings inconsistency to their life.

A certain amount of anxiety on being separated is normal for every child. However, if it doesn’t go away even after putting the best efforts, it could be separation anxiety disorder which is a serious emotional problem and can only be treated with professional help.
